Church FarmChurch Farm nestles alongside the historic Norman church in the tiny village of Alsop en le Dale, at the head of one of the most beautiful but undiscovered dales in the Peak National Park. Our topsy-turvy cottages were created from an old barn. They are aimed at the top end of the Tourist Board Scheme and inspected annually. They are situated in the cobbled yard of our Rare Breeds farm. |
Gloucester CattleOn our farm we rear Gloucester Cattle, an ancient breed which were numerous in the Severn Vale from the 13th century, and whose milk was used to make the original Double Gloucester cheese. There are only about 700 Gloucester cows in existence, and a number of these are on our farm. Gloucester cattle are a dual purpose breed - they are good milk providers and also provide fine lean beef. |
