It offers stunning natural beauty to all who are fortunate enough to visit this picturesque part of England. Most guest who visit these parts (especially for the first time) come away with a lasting impression of its scenic and rugged landscape only to return year after year to discover a little more of this remote, sometimes hostile but always spectacular Pennine Region.

Many local trails provide good access for walking, cycling and trekking activities. For the more adventurous there are opportunities for hang-gliding, sailing, caving, gliding, abseiling and rock-climbing. Alton Towers and Gardens are within easy reach.

Around Buxton there are many country shows and festivals as well as craft antiques and collectors fairs. You can discover the famous Derbyshire tradition of Well Dressing which can be seen throughout the summer in the surrounding towns and villages and in Buxton itself
