Foolow
Foolow is a picturesque village clustered around a village green with an ancient cross and duckpond. It was formerly a lead-mining village and many of the houses are from the 17th century. The mere is fed by natural springs and the shaft of the village cross is medieval, though the base is more recent and has a bull-baiting ring attached to it. There are no shops but there is a pub, the Bull's Head.

The area around is limestone, with much evidence of lead-mining locally. There are also some interesting geological features, such as Waterfall Swallet, where one of the local streams disappears underground. This lies along the road to Eyam. To the north the ground rises up to Eyam edge and the landscape changes rapidly to gritstone. The whole surrounding area is a fine one for relatively gentle walks.

Foolow has a well-dressing in late August.

Bagshaw CavernBagshaw Cavern, a cave system in Bradwell, Hope Valley, Derbyshire. A largely natural cave system discovered by lead miners in 1806. Open to the public on summer weekends as a show cave and for Adventure Caving.
Eyam HallEyam Hall is a fine 17th Century Hall in the Plague village of Eyam, Hope Valley, which is still in the hands of its original builders, the Wright Family. It is open to the public and also has a small set of craft workshops attached.
Eyam Museum and Plague VillageEyam Museum and the Plague Village, Eyam, give a history of the tragic 1665-6 visit of the Bubonic Plague to this village in the Derbyshire Peak District.
