The WoolpacksHigh up on the south side of Kinder Plateau there is a large area of eroded gritstone rocks, which have been worn away by the wind and the rain into weird shapes. These are known as the Woolpacks - so called because of the similarity of some of the shapes to the old packs of wool which would be carried on packhorse animals long ago. |
