Two bedroomed cottage situated in the centre Birchover, sleeping four people in two bedrooms, both with a double bed. There is a single fold-up bed available on request. Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House, Stanton Moor, Cratcliff Rocks and Robin Hood's Stride are all within easy reach. There are many beautiful walks in the area. The cottage has been awarded four stars under the Visit England Tourist Board grading scheme.
The cottage is available all year round. From 1st November to 31st March (excluding New Year and Bank Holidays) it can be booked for odd nights (minimum two nights). The remainder of the year is usually let on a weekly basis. Sorry dogs are not accepted and visitors are requested not to smoke in the cottage.
The accommodation consists of:
a comfortable sitting room with sofa and two easy chairs, television (with satellite receiver), telephone, Wi-Fi, radio and DVD player. Log burning stove in addition to storage radiator.
two bedrooms, each with a double bed.
a kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave oven, fridge, freezer and washing machine
a bathroom with shower over the bath and shaver point.
Parking is available for one car in front of the cottage. Heating is by means of storage radiators and there is also a log burning stove in the sitting room. Electricity is free. There is a small garden at the front of the cottage and a grassed area at the rear with picnic table.
There are two pubs in the village, the Red Lion Inn and the Druid Inn. Both serve food except on a Monday when the Red Lion is closed all day. Unfortunately the one and only shop has now closed and the nearest village shop is in Winster (two miles away). There are supermarkets in Bakewell and Matlock. Also in the village is a playing field with climbing frame, swings, etc. and a Church.
